About this washer
This is a washer in 304 Stainless Steel, at strength class A2-70, supplied plain, with an M2 thread and a 4 mm length. Every dimension is stated against the standard named above; where a tolerance class matters to your design, ask us and we will confirm it in writing before you order.
A washer spreads the clamp load of the fastener over a wider area of the joint face and keeps the turning nut or head from scoring the part underneath. Fitted under bolts, screws and nuts on soft or painted surfaces, slotted holes, and any joint that is taken apart often enough for the face to matter.
304 (EN 1.4301, A2) is the general-purpose austenitic stainless grade: good resistance to fresh water, food acids and atmospheric corrosion, non-magnetic in the annealed state. It is the default for indoor and general outdoor fastening where chlorides are low.
M2 is a metric thread with an 2 mm nominal diameter and a coarse pitch of 0.4 mm (ISO 261). A standard hex head takes a 4 mm spanner across the flats.
