About this screw
This is a screw in 40Cr Alloy Steel, at strength class Grade 12.9, supplied black oxide, with an 2# thread and a 3/16 in length. Every dimension is stated against the standard named above; where a tolerance class matters to your design, ask us and we will confirm it in writing before you order.

40Cr is a chromium-alloy quench-and-temper steel, the standard feedstock for grade 8.8 and above in China. It reaches 10.9 and 12.9 after heat treatment.
Grade 12.9 is the highest common commercial grade at 1220 MPa tensile / 1100 MPa yield, used for socket head screws and highly stressed joints. Specify Dacromet or black oxide, not electroplated zinc.
