About this rivet
This is a rivet in H62 Brass, supplied self colour, with an M6 thread and a 12 mm length. Every dimension is stated against the standard named above; where a tolerance class matters to your design, ask us and we will confirm it in writing before you order.
A rivet is a permanent fastener: it is set once and removed only by drilling it out, which makes it cheap and tamper-resistant but not serviceable. Used on sheet metal, ducting, panels, luggage hardware and light structures where the joint is never meant to be opened.
H62 brass (62% copper) is the common free-cutting brass for screws and nuts: non-magnetic, conductive, corrosion-resistant in fresh water, widely used in electrical and furniture hardware.
M6 is a metric thread with an 6 mm nominal diameter and a coarse pitch of 1 mm (ISO 261). A standard hex head takes a 10 mm spanner across the flats.
