About this screw
This is a screw in Q195 Carbon Steel, at strength class Grade 4.8, supplied colour zinc plated, with an M6 thread and a 35 mm length. Every dimension is stated against the standard named above; where a tolerance class matters to your design, ask us and we will confirm it in writing before you order.
A screw threads directly into the parent material or into a nut, so the thread form, the point and the drive decide what it can be used for. Colour zinc plating is an electroplated finish with a yellow/olive passivate — the older, thicker-passivate version with better salt-spray life than clear zinc.
Grade 4.8 is low-carbon steel at 400 MPa tensile / 320 MPa yield. Suitable for light-duty, non-critical joints and the cheapest option per piece.
