About this screw
This is a screw in Q195 Carbon Steel, at strength class Grade 4.8, supplied colour zinc plated, with an M8 thread and a 75 mm length. A screw threads directly into the parent material or into a nut, so the thread form, the point and the drive decide what it can be used for. M8 is a metric thread with an 8 mm nominal diameter and a coarse pitch of 1.25 mm (ISO 261). A standard hex head takes a 13 mm spanner across the flats.
Colour zinc plating is an electroplated finish with a yellow/olive passivate — the older, thicker-passivate version with better salt-spray life than clear zinc.
