304 (EN 1.4301, A2) is the general-purpose austenitic stainless grade: good resistance to fresh water, food acids and atmospheric corrosion, non-magnetic in the annealed state. It is the default for indoor and general outdoor fastening where chlorides are low.
M7 is a metric thread with an 7 mm nominal diameter and a coarse pitch of 1 mm (ISO 261). A standard hex head takes a 11 mm spanner across the flats.
